Fumigation of 17 Local Governments in Plateau state April 11,2020
The Agric Services Training Centre and Marketing Limited ASTC&M Ltd in April 2020 was commissioned by the Plateau state Government to fumigate and decontaminate the entire state in a flag off ceremony by Governor Simon Lalong, who expressed readiness to take major steps in combating the dreaded covid-19 pandemic. ASTC& M Limited was commissioned to fumigating places of public gatherings, Major roads, markets, Local government headquarters and high profile centers that accommodate crowds, with the fumigation covering all the 17 local government areas of the state.
The fumigation Exercise across the 17 Local Government Areas which lasted about a week saw ASTC & M Ltd deploying heavy duty machineries like Jactors, Sprayers, Hand held Motorized sprayers, Air blast, Boom sprayers. Etc.
The Managing Director of ASTC&M Limited, Dr Susan Bentu, was at hand to supervise the state wide exercise. She applauded the proactiveness of the government in considering the health of the citizens against contracting the dreaded Coronavirus into the state through the fumigation Exercises, Bentu further highlighted the importance of the fumigation exercise which has been a long known method of killing pests, termites or any other harmful living organisms to prevent the transfer of exotic organisms. She also emphasized on the need for government parastetals and Agencies, NGO, corporate societies and individuals to engage in Fumigation not only against the COVID 19 but as it kills other insecticides, rodents and mosquitoes in an environment. The MD further stated that ASTC&M Ltd, offers the best services in terms quality delivery of services of such magnitude and other agricultural services.
FUMIGATION OF COURTS IN PLATEAU STATE:
In a follow up on the state wide fumigation exercise in Plateau State, ASTC&M Ltd were also engaged to further ensure that courts were made safe as such the fumigation of Courts across the state was dully carried out against the novel Covid-19 pandemic.
